Gene and Kelcey are great hosts. If you stay on the property in their barn loft you will be treated to some excellent evening meals and Gene has a lot of interesting stories to go with dinner. The property has several different pieces spread over several miles that gives a chance at several groups of birds. Our hunt ended with a Merriam's double. There’s also a few other perks to the ranch, but you’ll need to find those out from Gene and Kelcey after you book.
Reviewed by Guest on May 2023I have nothing but amazing things to say about SpringLake. Gene and Kelcey were so generous and their cabin is the perfect place to stay! I didn't get to see many deer due to my trip coinciding with a bad cold spell, but there was sign everywhere. Highly recommend booking with them!

We had a wonderful time, with nothing but the best hospitality and conversations! The turkeys were thin, but we both got one. 5 🌟

Gene, Kelcie, and Candy were very hospitable and made us feel welcome. The Lodging and food was great. They definitely have very good turkey habitat. Spring was late coming in along with a decline in turkey population made the turkey hunting hard. We had a group of four and harvested two nice gobblers. Along with the private ground there are a couple public land properties within a short drive which gives you more dirt to cover. I would go back. The turkeys may move in later in the season and hopefully will increase in population next year. I have found populations are down in Kansas and Missouri as well. Hope it changes.
