The ranch was great. The bunkhouse was more than we expected. It really was a great place to stay. The ranch is beautiful and the ranch manager on site was very informative and helpful. Very easy to deal with. Every time I had a question for the owner it was always a quick reply.
Reviewed by Guest on December 2021 The Sandhills uplands on the property provided great views and opportunities to see numerous sparrow species but the real gems of this property are the large open water wetlands. These wetlands are outstanding for seeing and photographing a variety of wetland birds. The highlight of our trip was watching the swans with their young of the year!
Reviewed by Guest on October 2021Birding at Saults Ranch was one of the best birding experiences I've ever had! I spent two days on the ranch, where I originally planned on scoping out the large property for hot spots where we might find the most birds, and the second day actually birding. However, I found that on both days there were so many birds to see throughout the ranch, even without it being peak migration season. Some of the highlights of my birding trip include resident Great Horned Owls, Swainson's Hawks, Loggerhead Shrikes, Upland Sandpiper, Glossy/White-faced Ibis, and Lark Buntings! If you are visiting the property just for birding, I would recommend walking along the dirt road that leads up to the ranch and to the edge of the property. The lines of trees are filled with birds, and towards the end of the property is a marsh full of shorebirds and waterfowl. Amy was an absolute pleasure to communicate with, and was very accommodating for this trip! She made sure that we had all the information that we needed before our trip to Saults Ranch, and was available at any point to answer questions we had. Additionally, the workers at the ranch were friendly, and we felt very welcomed throughout our visit.
