LandTrust Goes International: Gould’s Turkey Hunts in Northern Mexico!

LandTrust Goes International: Gould’s Turkey Hunts in Northern Mexico!

We’re excited to announce a major milestone for LandTrust — our first-ever international listing! For over a decade, a dedicated family has been hosting hunters in Northern Chihuahua, Mexico, and now their unique Gould’s turkey hunt experience is available to book through LandTrust.

We understand that heading south of the border might feel a little different from your typical hunt, so let’s break it all down and help you feel confident and informed.

A Family Tradition of Safe, Hassle-Free Hunts

This isn’t a new operation. For over 12 years, this family has been welcoming hunters from the U.S. to their ranches in Mexico. Many guests are repeat hunters, and over the years, safety has never been an issue.

We know safety is a big deal, especially when it comes to international travel — and that’s why the host personally meets every guest at the Columbus, New Mexico border crossing or El Paso International Airport, escorts them to the ranch (just a 3-hour drive), and handles all the paperwork, including gun permits, hunt contracts, and 177-3 border documentation. You just need your passport and driver’s license, and you're good to go.

If you're feeling unsure or just have questions, the host is happy to talk with you directly. They're committed to making this a comfortable, trustworthy experience.

What’s the Hunt Like?

This is a 3-day, 2-night Gould’s turkey hunt on six active ranches teeming with birds. Choose between DIY or guided options:

  • DIY Hunt: $2,800 per hunter

  • Guided Hunt: $3,800 per hunter

  • Second Bird Option: $1,200

You’ll stay in basic but clean ranch houses, with home-cooked meals prepared by a camp cook. Most guests arrive Thursday around noon, hunt Friday through Sunday, and head home Sunday night or Monday morning.

Each ranch features feeders, roosting zones, and prime strutting terrain in the oak and juniper landscape. Whether you’re chasing your Royal Slam or just looking for a great spring adventure, this is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to harvest a Gould’s.

Hunters typically use shotguns, though bows are allowed and cross without issue. A local taxidermist is also available if you want to preserve your trophy before heading home.

Why We’re Excited

This listing is a big deal for us — not just because it’s international, but because it reflects exactly what LandTrust is all about: connecting sportsmen with trusted landowners and creating meaningful experiences in the outdoors.

Yes, this listing is a little different. But with 12 years of experience, repeat hunters, a hands-on host, and a track record of smooth, safe trips, it checks all the boxes for an epic adventure you can feel good about.
