Kingdom Road Farm
Set on 100 acres in Blue Hill Maine, Kingdom Road Farm is a working farm with sheep, chickens and hay harvesting during the warmer months. The farm has a mix of ponds, streams, pasture, hay fields, ample forest and an historic cemetery. The property is home to deer, turkeys, bears, bobcats, grouse, coyote, rabbit, and woodcock. There are brook trout in the streams throughout the property. We offer overnight lodging with accommodations for up to 8 guests in our beautifully restored farmhouse. Acadia National Park is just 50 minutes away and the farm also abuts hundreds of acres of protected lands (Blue Hill Heritage Trust) with walking trails and easy parking.
Originally built around the circa 1800 fireplace and bread oven, this true farmhouse provides all-around comfort for our guests. We provide comfortable overnight accommodations and a full kitchen facility for our guests to prepare their own meals. The house has two floors, each with 2 bedrooms: one with twin beds and the other with a queen bed. All four bedrooms feature 10-inch cooling memory foam mattresses and private bathrooms. There is also a common area on each level, allowing those that are traveling together to have their own floor. A separate wing contains a full kitchen and dining area which can also serve as a great space for small meetings, seminars, etc.
Lodging is priced at $409/night.
The farmhouse is fully insulated and offers an individually controlled heating and cooling system in each bedroom for year-round comfort. There is an old, well-tuned piano in the downstairs common area....for musical noodling or even a family sing-along.
The interior of the building has been beautifully finished to pay homage to the historic nature of the house. Reclaimed barn boards from renovated outbuildings on the premises grace the farmhouse's walls as wainscoting, chair rails and trim boards. The original posts and beams have been left exposed throughout the house and are augmented by new timber framing in the main entryway and common area downstairs. Situated on a hill, the house's southerly views overlook two ponds, pasture, hay fields and a two hundred year old cemetery.
