LandTrust is a community of sportsmen and landowners with a desire to enjoy and protect the outdoors. While gathering information about the people who use, our apps, platforms and related sites (collectively referred to as “LandTrust Sites”), we take your privacy very seriously and make every effort to safeguard your personal data. This privacy policy is intended to inform you of what information we collect, how this information is used and what steps we take to protect this information, as well as providing you a process to update, change or delete your personal data.

What information we collect
We collect three (3) types of information:

  • Personal information that you provide directly to us when you create an account with us.
  • Data collected automatically such as tracking information, IP addresses or other data related tousage on LandTrust Sites.
  • Cookies, to help us understand how our users use the LandTrust Sites.

Information you provide directly to us

Account information.
At account registration, you provide personal information, such as your name, email address, and password, and you have the option to provide other information. If you create an account through a user profile (such as Facebook, or other social media sites) then your information is sent from your profile to use in accordance with our privacy policy. Your personal information is maintained on a secure site, and we never sell your personal information.

Booking information.
We collect your personal information when you book an experience with a Landowner through a LandTrust Site. At times, you may be asked to provide additional information, such as payment to provide under a secure payment process. When you provide your credit card number, it will only be shared with verified third parties who perform tasks required to complete the purchase transaction, and only the last four digits will be stored.

Comments and other public activities.
We offer you the opportunity to comment on any experiences you book though a LandTrust Site in the form of reviews. These comments are visible to other users, and any personal information you include in your comments may be read, collected or used by third parties. We are not responsible for any personally identifiable information you choose to submit in public forums. Information shared here may be used by others, potentially to send you unsolicited messages. Therefore, you should be mindful of what you share.

Non-personal data collected automatically
Tracking information for our site.

This type of information is non-personal information that is automatically collected and stored relating the sites’ usage. We perform statistical analyses of users of the site, and their viewing patterns, for product development purposes and to generally inform advertisers about the nature of our audience. Device data.

We may collect non-personal information about the computer, mobile device or other device you use to access LandTrust Sites, such as IP address, geolocation information, unique device identifiers, browser type, browser language and other preferences automatically collected. We use this non-personal information to help us understand how our users interact with the LandTrust Sites.

Data collected with cookies

Tracking usage.

  • behavioral advertising which allows third parties to collect cookies to help LandTrust advertise offerings more efficiently,

We use your data for limited purposes and do not sell it to any third parties. Specific uses are defined below.

Providing requested services.

We may use the data to fulfill your requests for services and information. For example, using your contact information to respond to your customer service requests, or to enable reservations through the system.


We use data we collect to send email newsletters, or information about experiences that may be of interest to you (if you have opted in for this information). We may also use the data to send you email communications, such as information about your account or updates to the site.


We may use the data to prevent illegal activities, to enforce the Terms of Use, or as otherwise required by law.

Behavioral advertising.

In order to help LandTrust better market on third party platforms, LandTrust works with third parties to collect information about your use of our website so that we can provide advertising about our offerings tailored to your interests. In addition to the uses identified above, we may use your personal information for any other purposes disclosed to you at the time we collect your data or pursuant to your consent.

General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) Compliance

As a result of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), LandTrust has implemented a number of systems across our organization to ensure we comply with the intent and spirit of the law. In summary, we have:

  • included details in our privacy policy with respect to how LandTrust processes, stores and manages your data
  • provided for consent options where you submit your personal information to ensure you are aware and agree to submitting your information prior to completing a form
  • entered into vendor agreements with those third parties that manage data as a data processor on our behalf, to ensure they have appropriate safeguards in place to process, manage and secure data as required.
  • Developed internal processes to ensure we have a way to contact users in the event that there is a breach in data storage of your personal information.
  • Provided a means, through, to allow users to contact us about any privacy issues, including, the ability to deactivate of any account.

Steps we take to protect your privacy

To protect and prevent unauthorized access to your personal information, maintain data accuracy, prevent accidental loss, destruction, damage or theft of data, LandTrust implements and maintains security and organizational measures with commercially reasonable physical, technical and administrative controls. Please note that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. Remember, when visiting a third-party site from a LandTrust Site, we do not control the privacy policies of other parties, so please check before browsing on those sites to ensure you agree with their terms.

Children under age

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we have collected any personal information from a child under the age of 13 (or under the age of 16 from the European Union) without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it from our database as quickly as possible. This privacy policy may be updated from time to time, and when the policy is updated, the version date will appear at the top of this privacy policy. If we make material changes, you will be notified here for a period of 30 - 60 days based on our last update.

Deactivating your account and managing privacy settings

You can request that your account be deactivated at any time by contacting us at When your account is deactivated, your user profile and all public activities (such as comments) will be hidden..
