Standing on the high plains of Western Kansas, Ackerman Farms features multiple parcels which straddle both sides of I-70. The farm also represents two game management units. 

The farm's 1100 acres consist of mostly draws through farm fields and fence lines with shelterbelts scattered throughout.

Lodging is not yet offered on the property; however, the property is just south of Brewster, which is conveniently located right in the middle of Goodland and Colby. Lodging, grocery stores, and local restaurants can all be found in both towns.

Despite drought conditions in this part of the state, the property looks really good. I saw two groups of deer in the late afternoon, as well as pheasants on the gravel roads around the property.

    We enjoyed a real wild bird hunt, while we did not bag as many birds as planned we knew we were going into an area like of the country that had been impacted by by the recent drought the hunt was everything we had hoped for. One recommendation I have would be to receive the details/package prior to the day of reservation. I want to thank the residents of Bird City for their hospitality.

    My buddy and I went pheasant hunting on Ackerman farms. The five stars are all about Seth and how great he was communicating with us, checking in on us, and steering us toward additional properties that he works that we could hunt on. We only popped up a couple of pheasant in 2 days of hunting, but it was a dry year and a lot of other hunters were complaining they weren't seeing them either. Seth's property isn't what I'd call classic pheasant habitat, but Seth put us on some nice areas including a crop circle with corners that had some birds. Thanks for the hospitality Seth!
