Welcome to Avina Ranch, a privately‑owned, 323‑acre slice of classic North Coast Range habitat just outside Cobb, CA.  Rolling meadows, mixed oak‑pine woodland, and chaparral benches rise from ~2,600 ft to 3,100 ft, creating natural travel corridors, bedding cover, and glassing points for the resident Columbian black‑tailed deer. Seasonal draws feed Kelsey Creek, but there are no potable water sources or facilities on site, this is a true day‑hunt experience.

What makes our land special

Low hunting pressure: Only a few handfuls of permits issued each season.

Diverse terrain: Open grasslands for long shots, pockets of manzanita & oak for close‑range still‑hunting.

Conservation focus: Former ancestral Pomo land now stewarded with cultural burn partners; we ask that every guest leave the property exactly as found.

Quick Rules & Expectations

Legal deer only, during the published CDFW season/time zone for this unit. Hunting hours: ½ hr before sunrise – ½ hr after sunset.

Valid California hunting license + appropriate deer tag required (draw, PLM, etc.).

Non‑lead ammunition (≤1 % lead) is mandatory statewide.

Day‑use only – no camping, fires, or overnight stays.

No facilities: bring all food, water, and sanitation supplies; pack everything out.

Blaze/hunter‑orange strongly encouraged; be sure of target & beyond, ~40 neighboring parcels adjoin the ranch.

Field‑dress game well away from creeks; take unusable parts with you when practical.

Validate & return your tag to CDFW on time.

▶ There is a gas station, a grocery store, alarge motel, and other ammenities just a 5 minute drive away.

Come enjoy a quiet day in the hills, take home quality venison, and help us keep Avina Ranch wild and healthy for generations to come.
