Welcome to the Baumwolle Midwest Ranch Retreat, our outdoor paradise here in Southern Missouri! 

The stars really do shine brighter at Jennie's Baumwolle Midwest Ranch Retreat! We offer a completely unique getaway opportunity that is centrally located between St Louis and Joplin Missouri, close to Fort Leonard Wood and just a few miles from Bunker. With gently rolling hills, lakes, meadows and pastures this wooded retreat is approximately 124 acres and surrounded on 3 sides by the Mark Twain National Forest. The national park offers forested mountains with scenic rivers, lakes & streams for hiking, biking, fishing & much more. Kayaking and canoeing is also available just minutes away.

Our Area

Baumwolle Midwest Ranch Retreat is just 6 miles from the town of Bunker Missouri. Here you will find a Dollar General Store, G & S Gas and Minimart, and Wood's Dariette a family owned 4.8-star restaurant with a lot of personality (Cheeseburgers, Pizza, Milkshakes, and more). We are also near Tom Sauk Park, Devils Well, Sutton's Bluff, Johnson Shut Ins, and we are less than 35 miles to Salem Missouri, Echo Bluff, Loggers Lake, Eminence Floating in Eminence Missouri, Cave Springs, Akers Ferry, Welsch Spring, Montauk Missouri, and the Current River.

Lodging

We offer a well-furnished 3 bedroom / 2 bath mobile home that we call "The Cottontop House". We do our best to include every amenity possible to make your packing easy and your stay as comfortable as possible. For those taking a working vacation, high-speed WiFi is ready your phones, tablets and laptops. Bring your camper, RV, or 5th Wheel. We have extra Hookups, a second well, and sewage/septic attachment available (small extra charge) all within sight of the "Cottontop" home.

The Cottontop is available for a few days or a several week-long long lodging experience. Much of the perimeter is fenced and buildings are only accessible to guests through our private drive. You will find fruit and nut trees among the moderately forested tree lines and trails. The property is complete with WIDE accommodating trails perfect for ATV and OHV four-wheeling, riding your horses (at your own risk), hiking or just a casual morning or evening walk. If you bring your off-highway vehicles (OHVs) [ATV, UTV, 4 Wheelers, Off-Road Motorcycles] you can enjoy riding our wide easily accessible paths and trails. For a fee you can leave your OHV's at home and arrange to use OURS! 

Experiences

For seasonal hunting, there are abundant deer, turkey, and other wild game that love to hang around the forested acres. For the fishing enthusiast, we have three fully stocked lakes. We are located within 4 miles of the headwaters of Meramec, Black, and the Sinking Creek Rivers. A little farther at (but within 30 miles) are the Montauk, the Current River, Johnson's Shut-Ins, Devil's Well - Ozark National Scenic Riverways, and Cave/Welsh areas for added and unique experiences.

German Shepherds

While visiting us ask about our Purebred German Shepherd Puppies. Baumwolle Midwest German Shepherds has been hands-on importing and breeding true world-class quality GSD puppies for over 5 years. These pups come from German bloodlines and include World Sieger, IPO, IGP and Schutzhund trained parents. Before moving to Missouri we were rated as the #2 Top Breeder in the USA.

A portion of the property is sectioned off as a Dog Breeding Kennel. We commonly have GSD puppies being cared for by their mother(s). Even though these are well-behaved and intelligent animals, we ask that they not be approached without our supervision.
