This package is for the harvest of a cow bison.
Package is $3,750 per cow.
All bison hunts are conducted in accordance with Wisconsin state law. While bison are considered an agricultural product in the state. As such, hunters must purchase the animal prior to harvest, with payment due through LandTrust before delivery. Once ownership is transferred, the hunter can choose their preferred harvest method, such as field harvest with a firearm or bow, and we will work with you to ensure the process meets both legal requirements and your preferences.
Our farm offers a rare chance to ethically harvest your own bison while supporting a local, family-operated agricultural tradition. Located just 1.5 hours from Madison and about 3 hours from Minneapolis–Saint Paul and Green Bay, the farm is both accessible and deeply rooted in Wisconsin’s rural heritage.
The buffalo are a wild animal, not wild like a deer, more like a grouse. You get the privilege of a killing shot at one and only one animal. More shots may be used on this one animal if needed, but no other animals may be fired at. One of us here at the farm will go to the field with you to assist in putting the animal down if that is needed.
The buffalo will be in a large field, probably 50 acres or so, depending on which paddock we have them in, on our properties. If you want us to, we will skin the animal for you, also quarter it, and put it in your vehicle. Just coordinate with us on the details on that as we help you take your buffalo home.
In the past, it has worked well to go out with a team and wagon. You can usually get real close that way, and we'll help you with that if you want.
You can team up with a buddy and get 10% off if more than one animal is taken at the same time. Reach out to us for discounts on group rates.
We're always happy to have a conversation and provide more details as you plan your trip.
The farm does not offer lodging, but nearby towns provide comfortable accommodations, and the host is happy to offer local recommendations. Basic field access and light assistance are available, and freezer space or processing referrals may be arranged upon request.
Note: Elmer, the landowner, is a proud member of the Amish community. He is relying on neighbors and LandTrust to field new inquiries for hunts. Please give him a couple days of grace in between response times with his limited technology use.
