Big Bluff Ranch
Big Bluff Ranch - 4 hours away from the Bay Area and light years away from city life - is dedicated to regenerative agriculture and farming practices.
Welcome to The Best Hidden Private Waters Lake in California!
We invite you out here to our little slice of heaven - come once and we know that we'll been seeing you again next year.
The Lake:
Once here, the 25-acre lake is all yours.
- No nosy or noisy neighbors in the camp spot next door.
- No loud boats screaming past you throwing up huge wakes.
- No hustle and bustle of cilivation anywhere near by
This private lake is 3 miles from the nearest neighbor and a 1/2 mile behind a locked gate.
It's just you, your buddies (if you like them enough to bring them here) and the biggest drop of water in western Tehama County.
Built in the late 70s, stocked in the 80s and self-sustaining since then, this lake is chock full of large mouth bass, channel Catfish and red ear sunfish.
The lake is perfect for young fisherman (bring your grandkids), bass-aholics (you know who you are), and even familes who just want a weekend get-away.
The Cabana:
Our cabana will be the headquarters for your vacation. The cabin comfortably sleeps 5 guests, equipped with 2 twin captain beds and 1 twin over full bunk bed. If you have more people than we have beds, ask us about additional camping options.
To cook your meals, an outdoor kitchen is available with a gas barbecue grill and a 3 burner camp stove. We provide all the necessities such as plates, bowls, cups and utensils. This cabana is off the grid (meaning no electricity), so bring lots of ice and coolers for your food and beverages.
There is an updated outhouse with a composting toilet and a solar-heated shower head. We provide drinking water from our artesian spring.
The Ranch:
In the family since 1960, we've always been a little bit off the beaten track. 25 miles west of I5 and 7 miles of dirt road make you feel like you've found the middle of nowhere.
But that's just the way we like it.
Out here, our vision is to create the most vibrant oak woodland savanah possible.
That sort of ecosystem grows plenty of wildlife (like our healthy fish), plenty of nutritious and delicous meats, and makes for a pretty amazing place to live.
Come on out, we'd love to show the magic of Big Bluff Ranch.
PS - NO HUNTING AVAILABLE. All of our hunting is booked by private club that isn't looking for new members. Sorry about that.

One of the best parts of hosting people on our ranch is that they show us new ways of seeing our ranch.
After 60+ years of owning this ranch, it is incredible that there is always something new to see.
Please reach out if you want to come out here and show us something special our ranch that we've never seen before.
If you call and when you get here, you'll mostly like interact with Frank, the "old codger."
If you email, you'll likely hear from Tyler the "young buck."
When you show up, you'll get greeted first by the 3 big white guard dogs we have out here.
