Beautiful property on the Gallatin River. Elk, deer, and turkey are found on the property regularly, and the fishing is amazing! There's a great spot on the river to pitch a tent if you're looking to spend a few days out there.

Really beautiful property. Communication was easy and clear. Had some luck and really enjoyed the hunt here, would definitely return.
Reviewed by Guest on December 2023 Bayard was a great host. The communication was excellent. We had a great hunt. Will come back again!
Reviewed by Guest on December 2023Bayard couldn’t have been more gracious. Very interesting man and family history - we need more like him ! Gorgeous property with beautiful river- nice trout. As a bonus I saw ha small herd of elk. Hope to return.
Reviewed by Guest on August 2024Bayard's place is truly special. We got to talk with his dad for a few minutes and he shared stories from the days his father worked this same land. Anyone who experiences this property will gain a greater appreciation for how valuable working lands are to the communities they are a part of...even in a quickly developing community like Bozeman. We need these types of properties to carry on and I look forward to coming back to Black Ranch for years to come.
Reviewed by Guest on July 2023We had a great time on the Gallatin at Bayard’s ranch. The water was perfect, the views amazing, and the kids were able to land a few fish. Will definitely take them back!
Reviewed by Guest on July 2023Bayard's property is always a pleasure to visit. Such a beautiful, serene, private property along the Gallatin that is just minutes away from town. Can't wait for the river to come down so we can get out there and fish!
Reviewed by Guest on May 2023Bayard is always a gracious and welcoming host. Leading up to our trip, he was informative of where he’d been seeing birds and how the weather had been affecting them. During the hunt, we saw a couple hens and a group of longbeards on his neighbor’s property. It was my first time ever seeing a turkey fan up and strut in person. It was awesome! Unfortunately, we couldn’t call them to the other side of the fence, but still had an awesome time at Bayard’s place. He even let us throw a line in on the river. Thanks Bayard for a great time as always, we’ll be back!!
Reviewed by Guest on May 2023I had an incredible morning at Bayard’s shooting ducks! It was -40 degrees, which made the warm spring creek the ideal place to find ducks and geese. There was a bunch of open water along the creek that you can hunt without a dog. I should have shot a limit of mallards in the hour or so that I was out there if I had been shooting a little better. Quite a few geese out there as well. I’ll be back out there soon!
Reviewed by Guest on December 2022Had a great time at Bayard's place on the Gallatin. Four geese and a couple of ducks...and the views...definitely will go back!
Reviewed by Guest on December 2022Bayard's property is fantastic! It's easy to navigate and the waterfowl were flying everywhere. Be prepared to cross some water so bring waders or tall muck boots. Bayard himself is very easy to communicate with and made the process of booking so smooth. We were stoked to take some geese home and can't wait to go back!
Reviewed by Guest on December 2022Another fantastic day fishing with the family! We caught a bunch of fish and I ended the day with a great 20” brown. We’ll be back soon!
Reviewed by Guest on August 2022Our group had a blast out at Black Ranch! Hands down the best day of fishing I've had on the Gallatin. Big holes, with big fish! We also saw a good sized herd of elk, a flock of turkeys, and plenty of whitetails. Bayard keeps a pristine property and we will definitely be booking again!
Reviewed by Guest on March 2022Bayard was a great host, very communicative and welcomed us on the property. The property is really amazing. Soon as we showed up we saw tons of whitetailed deer, turkeys, and a large herd of elk on the southern border. As we made our way to the Gallatin river, we crossed over a little spring creek that had a bunch of ducks on it. This property is so special. You're 10mins from Bozeman but you can't see or hear it from here. Thanks, Bayard, I'll be back soon!
