Deer movement is concentrated around our hayfields, soybean plots, and pond, especially during dawn and dusk.
The land is largely open with a small stretch of woods, about 5 acres worth. With the limited cover, hunters typically have the best luck with a rifle. Bowhunting is doable; however, it's much more of a challenging hunt.
We are located in Kansas Unit 11 for whitetails.
Located just 10 minutes from the US-Hwy 69 corridor, Bourbon County Whitetails offers exclusive access to our 100-acres working cattle and hay operation. We are first-generation property, with a mix of pasture, tillable fields, and edge habitat that consistently has whitetail deer cruising through. With soybean plots, hayfields, and ample natural forage, deer have everything they need for food.
We are located about an hour and a half from KC and about an hour from Joplin, Missouri.
Hunters are welcome to camp on-site, take in the quiet of rural Kansas evenings, and even tag along during haying season for a hands-on look at life on a working ranch.
