We see elk concentrate on the creek bottom and in our pasture. The rolling hills and surrounding National Forest provide good cover as they move between open country and the draws.

Hunt District 704 is a draw tag for bull elk and requires several points to have a decent chance of drawing.

• Elk Permit: 799-21 is available for bowhunters exclusively during archery season. 
• Elk Permit: 799-20 is available during archery, general, and muzzleloader seasons. 799-20 is an extremely difficult draw for both residents and nonresidents. 

Our East parcel covers 790 acres here in Rosebud County. This acreage is concentrated on the O'Dell Creek and is mostly pasture ground. We are completely surrounded by the Custer National Forest, which offers Ponderosa Pine and juniper ridges. 

We are located south of Ashland about 40 minutes from Lame Deer and an hour from Broadus.

Bull Ranch has been in my family since my great-grandfather settled this ground in 1892, and my son will be the fifth generation to work it. Our ground is nestled below the ponderosa-covered hills of the forest. We utilize the abundant grass species to raise beef cattle (and a spattering of miniature donkeys). The cattle spend wintertime on the ranch and summertime roaming national forest land.
