We see whitetail and mule deer on the ranch.
The rolling hills, Ponderosa Pine ridges, and open grassland on this parcel are home to solid mule deer numbers, with plenty of additional access to the Custer National Forest.
The Otter Creek bottom is consistent whitetail habitat, with year-round water, bedding cover in the willows and brush, and travel routes connecting the creek to the surrounding grassland and crop edges.
Hunt District 704 is a general unit for both whitetail and muley bucks!
Our Homestead parcel covers 1,490 acres here in Powder River County. This acreage is concentrated on the Otter Creek and surrounded by the Ponderosa Pine and juniper ridges.
We are located south of Ashland about 40–50 minutes from both Lame Deer and Broadus.
Bull Ranch has been in my family since my great-grandfather settled this ground in 1892, and my son will be the fifth generation to work it. Our ground is nestled below the ponderosa-covered hills of the forest. We utilize the abundant grass species to raise beef cattle (and a spattering of miniature donkeys). The cattle spend wintertime on the ranch and summertime roaming national forest land.
