We are excited to welcome you to Marshall! “South Dakota is the pheasant capital of the world; Tripp county is the pheasant capital of South Dakota, and C&G [Marshall Farms] is the wild pheasant capital of Tripp County.” - Tripp County Natural Resources Conservation Service Agent.
Marshall Farms is a working row crop farm consisting of 2,320 acres of CRP, native grasslands, food plots, tree rows, ponds and slew acres. We have 13 ponds and a 23 acre slew area. The food plots are primarily milo and corn, which the pheasants love. Our farm has been featured in Pheasants Forever and we have had great success with pheasant hunters on our property.
In addition, we aggressively manage our property for deer and believe in the future of wildlife management and habitat conservation. We have a 100 year old shelterbelt that provides winter cover for 150-200 deer, as there are food plots just adjacent to the shelterbelts. We have deer stands, which accommodate 1-3 hunters very easily. We also have a number of other areas that are conducive to successful archery deer hunters.
The town of Winner is just 25 miles to the Southeast and Presho is just 16 miles to the North. Both offer lodging options and multiple other amenities. We respectfully request no campfires on the property and ask you not to drive your vehicles onto the property. However, we are able to provide quad 4-wheelers for field transportation and game retrieval. If you choose to use guides, we have both highly experienced deer and pheasant guides and our dogs are well-trained seasoned hunters.
We look forward to hosting you for a pheasant or deer hunt this fall!
