Coulee Creek Ranch

Nearest Town, Lavina, Montana
1,700 acres

Coulee Creek Ranch is located just south of Lavina, Montana, in Golden Valley County. We are just 45 minutes north of Billings and I-90. We are honored to ranch on the same ground that our family has called home since Bart's great-grandfather began ranching here in the early 1900s. We raise Red Angus cattle, along with some chickens, and occasionally a few pigs and sheep. We work with draft horses to do many of the chores on the ranch, from feeding in the winter to haying in the summer.

The ranch offers beautiful views of the Snowy and Crazy Mountains on the horizon. We are situated between the Musselshell River and Big Coulee Creek on rolling prairie grasslands and sagebrush steppe. Thanks to our remote location, we have dark skies and stunning star-gazing opportunities.

We are pleased to be certified through the National Audubon’s Conservation Ranching Initiative. Our cattle are grazed on Audubon Certified Bird-Friendly Land, which ensures that our management practices adhere to a set of four habitat, forage, animal welfare, and sustainability standards. Property Visited

During my visit I saw several groups of mule deer in and around some of the more timbered areas of the ranch. I'm confident that the ranch's habitat composition, water sources, timbered hills, and coulees, can support both mule deer and antelope.

Bart and Heather established Coulee Creek Ranch in 2014 on land that the Bilden family has called home since Bart’s great-grandfather Enoch Bilden began ranching here in the early 1900s. We raise Red Angus cattle, along with some chickens, occasionally a few pigs and sheep. We work with draft horses to do many of the daily chores including feeding in the winter and haying in the summer.
