Youth/Mentor Hunts only. This is not a trophy hunt. Please book for the number of youth hunters, and any non-hunting adults tagging along.

Deer hunters can expect encounters with both mule deer and whitetail, especially where cover meets our crop fields and creek bottoms. While not intensively managed for deer, the property benefits from its habitat, healthy forage, and natural movement corridors that bring bucks through during early rut and late-season feeding windows: Great for hunters with a bow or rifle!

Our habitat is rolling grassland, scattered draws, and native breaks paired with rich ag ground and various water sources (livestock tanks, ranch reservoirs, and creeks), providing excellent habitat for the wildlife here!

Note: This is a working cattle ranch practicing rotational grazing. Access coordination and hunter awareness of livestock zones are required. No lodging is provided, though RV camping may be available on request.

About the Ranch:

Just 20 minutes from Rapid City, Dry Creek Farm & Ranch offers sportsmen access to 1,550+ acres of regenerative ranchland on the edge of South Dakota’s Buffalo Gap National Grassland. We are a first-generation family operation with a focus on regenerative practices and traditional values. In the fall of 2015, we began our shift from a traditionally-managed ranching operation to a holistically-managed operation: replacing tilled farming methods with no-till methods, incorporating managed intensive grazing practices, shifting from corn finished to grass finished and focusing on improving the soil with the implementation of cover crops.

We are now an Audubon-Certified Bird Friendly Ranch, and have loved seeing how the ranch has benefited from these changes over the years. Another by-product of our practices is the great hunting opportunities here at the ranch!
