Horses have been the main theme of Kent's entire life. He has made his living for various spans of time as a cowboy, horseshoer, horse trainer, wilderness guide, camp cook, fence contractor, hay producer, and ranch manager - raising 5 children among the livestock of northcentral Montana.

His mid-life crisis came when he had a wreck with team of horses and broke his back. He had always made his living with that back, and now it was time to start using his head.

Kent returned to school, supporting his family by working as a Paramedic, and graduated from college the same year as his oldest daughter. He put his new degree in healthcare administration to work as the CEO of a rural montana hospital. Nine years later he earned his Masters in Business Administration from University of Montana.

Now the managing partner of an historic family ranch, Kent does his writing from the foothills of the Beartooth Mountains. His cowboy adventures continue, and he is compiling more stories for another book.
