Flat Top Cattle LLC
Flat Top Cattle LLC is a first-generation family commercial cattle operation in the Idaho desert. My wife and I started the ranch from scratch in 2006 with a dream and a couple cows. After many hard lessons learned, we were able to stay resilient and persevere, something that was instilled in me from childhood as the son of a sugarbeet farmer. Today, we run over 500 cows on over 6,500 acres of sprawling, arid land in Southeastern Idaho.
Every decision we've made, and learned to make over the years, has been with a focus on Certified Angus Beef genetics, improving herd quality, and making the highest quality product with the most functional cow: high quality for the end user and a functional cow for us.
This realized dream took more than just calculated decisions. Our whole family's hard work and faith has been critical to the life we've built here. Each member of our family has a key role that helps keep the ranch running. Our boys are always busy doing something. They have a list every day of jobs that they gotta take care of, and I couldn’t do it without them. Everybody’s busy and it’s fun.
It’s all part of our dream, and we're excited to share it with you.
The ranch is east of Craters of the Moon National Monument & Preserve and just west of Pocatello and I-15. Our ground is intermingled with and adjacent to a few hundred thousand acres of BLM and State lands.
We will be offering elk and pronghorn hunts this Fall. Inquire with any questions and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

5.0Greg was a great host. the hunt was not as i expected. There were many animals, but nearly impossible to get within gun range.we saw over 100 elk every day, however the closest we got to them was about 1000 yards The land was flat and open, with no way to sneak up on them. They would see the side by side. and move away, they stayed as far from the roads as possible. The odds of getting an Elk is very slim at best.

Great property!! Even better owner! Greg and his boys made me feel right at home and went over the top with information helping me find game. Saw a ton of antelope and some elk, unfortunately for me it was raining and foggy every day and hard to get on glass on the elk. The fog was so bad I could hear them bugling right below me but couldn’t see them. I left early and will be back to kill my bill later this year. Top notch hunt!

Huge property! A no nonsense get to it hunt. Having 3000 acres to hunt all by yourself with no other hunters was epic. I was archery hunting for a pronghorn and was able to harvest a nice young buck the first day. The landowner Greg is as good as a man you’ll ever meet, very very good guy. Great experience, I will for sure be back.
Reviewed by Guest on September 2023 Greg was a great host and great guy. Responds to messages, follows up with phone call. He meet with me before the hunt provided map with boundaries and recommendations on hunting the property, which is a huge beautiful property, plenty of room to roam with ATV following established trails. Camping and pets allowed a plus. Planning return trip.
