Shed hunters are invited to Guided Rock Farms to hike around our property and scour the area for elk and deer sheds. There's no telling what you might find out here!
Our property consists of two parcels about 30 miles apart. For our first parcel, we have about 480 acres just north of Hemingford. This ground is mostly cropland, with a small portion of pasture surrounded by shelterbelts. About 30 miles northwest, we have our second parcel, which consists of about 475 acres. This ground is just north of the Niobrara River. The terrain is more textured with timbered sections, draws, and hills.

Woods, Grasslands, Draws, Hills, Shelter Belt, and Brush
Our northwest parcel has ponderosa forest habitat and some brush. The hills are capped with cliff-forming calcareous sandstone beds that also help to form deep draws where they have been eroded away. The landscape provides habitat for deer, antelope, elk, and turkey. The southeast parcel is flatter, dominated by cropland and rolling pasture. There is 1.5 miles of shelter belt that provides habitat for many deer and pheasant.

🌱Regenerative & Holistic Agriculture
Instead of a romantic story of generations farming the same piece of land, we are a story of a seemingly impossible, very challenging start from scratch, of which we are very proud. Benton and I are both a generation removed from farming; we did have exposure to agriculture through our grandparents, and Benton worked on a few farms between geology jobs, and so are not completely clueless in our endeavor. We are, a first generation farm that took a big leap of faith to move to Nebraska to start our small operation. Thank you for supporting our journey with humble beginnings.
