Henning Farms + Cattle
Henning Farms and Cattle is proudly located in Cloud County, the Stained Glass Capital of Kansas. Our farm is family-owned and consists of about 4,900 acres that are perfect for hunting and outdoor recreation opportunities. The acreage consists of a few stand-alone parcels and three or four different parcel groups ranging from 1,000 to 1,900 acres respectively, so there's lots of prime ground to choose from!
Lodging is available in our house for as many 6-8 guests; however, we are also just a 48-minute drive from Interstate 70 and a 19-minute drive from Concordia.
We are excited to share our piece of Northcentral Kansas with you!

The Henning Farms property is lush heavy rolling hills. It feels a bit like stepping back in time as the brushing fence lines that used to act as property lines still exist on much of this farm. Saw one group of turkeys and whitetail deer in multiple different locations as we traveled from parcel to parcel.

5.0First off, Mike was a great host and was gracious spending time with me on the phone to identify the best habitat and really open up all corners of the farm to me. And what a beautiful farm it is, with lots of grasslands/pastures, quite a bit of winter wheat when I visited, a cool fossil bed, and a few nice creek bottoms full of roostable trees. Deer & deer tracks were everywhere. Unfortunately, like much of Kansas, turkey numbers weren't there. Across a couple of days I was unable to locate any turkeys on the farm though there were a couple of flocks roosting on adjoining properties that I'm sure cross over. I'll say the weather was highly uncooperative, so entirely possible I just didn't connect with them. I'll keep Henning Farms and Cattle high on my list for a repeat visit once Kansas starts to see the recovery of its turkey population. Appreciate the Hennings immensely.

Great place with even better folks. Mike and his father, Marvin, were very helpful on our trip and it could not have been better, Thank you to the Hennings!
Reviewed by Guest on January 2024 We had a good time - found and harvested some quail, we saw very few pheasants (although pheasants are very thin statewide this year). They left us mostly to ourselves, but a ranch hand did provide some direction when we bumped into him. We did some scouting the day prior and eliminated some spots that didn't seem like they'd be productive - the spots where we focused were usually good, although we had to work for our birds. The old farmhouse was fine, and we were okay with it, but don't have high expectations. If you need nice digs to relax and be comfortable, find a hotel nearby. We ate in town both nights and recommend Trapper Joe's in Simpson if you are ever in the area.
