JHL Farms + Feedlot
JHL Farms + Feedlot is a 4th-generation family farming operation headquartered just outside of Glendive, Montana. Our family moved to Dawson County from Nebraska in 1957. It started on 40 acres in hopes of farming sugarbeets. Early on my great-grandfather-in-law helped build the farm's canal, while my great-grandmother-in-law was the crew's cook. It's always been a family ordeal here on the farm. Fast forward to present day, and our family is still here running the feedlot and growing corn, wheat, and alfalfa on our farm ground.
The property is sandwiched between I-94 and the Yellowstone River, with beautiful views and landscapes that only Eastern Montana can produce. The Monroe Creek also runs through the property and empties into the Yellowstone. Along the creek is where the pheasants like to hang around. Pheasant hunters in years past have been known to limit out here in just a few hours! Well-trained bird dogs are invited to tag along to work the birds. Our farm ground is also a feeding hotspot for geese as they fly over from the river.
We currently are not offering lodging on the property; however, Glendive and its local hotels, restaurants, and supply stores, are all just a short drive away, especially with our close proximity to the interstate.

I saw numerous birds both on the ground and flying overhead. This property will be extremely attractive for goose hunters between the croplands and the proximity to the Yellowstone River.
