Southwest CO Guided Archery Big Game Hunt w/ Lodging & Mealsat Lanier Farms
Join us for a semi-guided archery elk or mule deer hunt in Colorado GMU 711 and 72.
We are a family-owned operation based here in Pleasant View, Colorado. About 2,600 acres of the ranch are located in GMU 711. The remaining 500 acres are located in GMU 72.
We offer five-day hunts for mule deer in September during the archery season.
The majority of our hunts are conducted on thousands of acres of private land with the remainder in the San Juan National Forest. Elevation approximately 7,000 feet.
We live and work on the land year-round where all hunts take place, which gives us an intimate knowledge of game movements.
Lodging and meals are provided by our family and are all included in the per-guest price of your hunt.
Modern accommodations include a log cabin with solar power, wood stove and hot showers. The lodging is a log cabin with solar power, running water, two bathrooms with hot showers. There is a wood stove for heat.
There is another cabin used for archery, but just for a night or two at a time. It is not equipped with solar power or running water, but it is not too far from the other cabin for showering.
Our hunts and accommodations will suit all ages and abilities. Come with friends, family or on your own.
What to Expect:
All of the hunts are five days long. Hunters are asked to arrive in the area two days before the hunt starts. The day before the hunt will be spent getting everyone together, getting licenses and last minute necessities, and getting to camp.
The deadline for applications is the first of April of the same year. The drawing takes place in June. We generally have good luck with hunters getting drawn. Before you apply we will be in contact to make sure the applications are filled out correctly.
When we hunt, we use permanent stands a lot, and we also do some spot and stalk. It depends on the game movements, weather, and the hunters' abilities.
We can accommodate 2-3 hunters per guide.
We will field dress, cape, and quarter any animals. We will deliver animals to the packing house, from there it is the responsibility of the hunter.
Pleasant View is located in beautiful southwest Colorado, just North of Cortez. This area is known for it's history, scenery and wildlife.

I'm a fourth-generation rancher. My great-grandpa homesteaded this land back in 1917. Over the years, we've shifted from row crops to a regenerative livestock operation focused on cattle and pigs, using rotational grazing and perennial cover crops. I started outfitting in 2005 and have built up a strong client base for elk and mule deer hunts, especially during the later rifle seasons when thousands of elk migrate through our property. We're now expanding into big game hunts during archery season, long-range shooting experiences, and other outdoor activities, and I’m excited to share what we’ve built here with guests who appreciate land, wildlife, and authentic Western experiences.
