Pheasants use the grassland and crop edges for cover and feeding, often holding tight in thicker vegetation. Walking field edges and working through cover near water sources can push birds into shooting range. Early mornings and late afternoons tend to produce the most movement.
Quail coveys concentrate in brushy edges and native grass, especially near food sources and water. They move in groups and can be found along transition zones between fields and thicker cover. Slow, methodical walking through these areas helps locate coveys.
We have a total of 1250 acres of farm and grassland. With half a mile of both the Sappa and Prairie Dog Creeks. Both creeks have live running water.
NOTE: Both of our creekbottom parcels are about 30 minutes from each other. Proximity is close enough to be reasonable, but far enough away to have better luck if one parcel isn't producing that day.
Our farmhouse boasts 3 bedrooms, each furnished with a queen bed for a restful night. There are living rooms on the main floor and basement with pull-out queen sleeper sofas. Each living room has furniture for your whole group to spread out and have their own space. The walk-out basement has views of the creek and access to outdoor activities. There is a bathroom on each level. For those not wanting to fully unplug, there is 1GB fiber internet with WIFI for a working getaway!
$110 per night up to 2 guests. $50 per person per night for each additional guest. Weekly and monthly discounts available. Message for pricing.
Grill out or cook in! Fully equipped kitchen for your own cooking/entertaining. There is a walk-out deck from the dining room for outdoor eating/entertainment.
Prairie Dog Creek is located at the rear of the home. This property has amazing outdoor experiences. There is a view of the Creek and wildlife from the rear deck. Hike down to the creek for closer look at the water and wildlife.
Bring your ATV and trail ride around the creek and the extended property.
