Hunt mule deer at the Upper spot here at Mahlstedt Ranch!

The terrain does pose a physically challenging hunt. The use of optics are also encouraged. 

Limit one harvest per hunter. Additional species can be added for additional fee. If you have multiple tags for multiple species, this needs to be reserved prior to the start of your hunt. 

The ranch is located in Unit 703 for deer.

Lodging is included with this package. NOTE: we are only booking mule deer hunts on the UPPER for groups that include Lodging. Day hunters can check back for availability mid September. 

2-Day Hunt/1-Night Stay Minimum required for guests using Jord's House. Please reach out to LandTrust if interested in adding an additional night stay, whether the night before your hunt or final night of your hunt to your booking.

House Description

 

Jord's house is the perfect base camp for your hunt! Ample room for your gear, living room to stretch your legs at end of the day, and a large porch to hang out with your friends after a successful hunt! There are several buildings on site that can be used for game processing with prior coordination. The view is spectacular and there are no other humans for miles around. This is a secluded location reserved just for you.

Natural Forage and Agriculture

 

It is the ideal home for wildlife as shown by the varieties of species! Wildlife graze in fields of crop that are on our lower lands throughout the year so they are kept in good condition. They also benefit from the salt, mineral, and lick tubs that we put out for our cattle year round.

Natural springs along with stock water tanks at key points ensure the wildlife and cattle are spread over the land in a wise-use scenario.

Mountains, Hills, Woods, Draws, Grasslands, Brush, and Shelter Belt

 

Our ranch was actually homesteaded in this area because of the natural protection available to animals.

Drive-in Access: Yes: Pasture roads cross every section of land
Walk-in Access: Yes • Access from pasture roads and county roads is available.
Vehicles: 1 Allowed • Please bring the minimal number of vehicles required for your party.
Landowner Rules: Gates must be left as found. PLEASE ALWAYS CLOSE THE GATE TO THE YARD AT THE HOUSE! No traveling through un-harvested crops is allowed. Any garbage left behind will result in fines. We require a fire extinguisher in each vehicle that comes on the ranch. Driving is limited to staying on established roads and 2-tracks. DO NOT drive on the water trench lines that have recently been put in place across our land.
