McClure Ranch 410
The McClure Ranch is a Montana family ranching operation located south of the Missouri River and CMR National Wildlife Refuge.
Our North Unit 410 Property
Our 410 property is east of US-Highway 191, and consists of just over 1200 acres. This is a draw unit for bull elk, but general for mule deer.
Our property also borders thousands of acres of publicly accessible land: Type-1 BMA, BLM, and CMR WIldlife Refuge.
This is a working ranch. From the end of September and through the month of October, we gather cattle behind the house, along with other neighbors that have grazing rights in certain areas. We just do not want to surprise people when we gather into the pastures on both sides of the highway. We are respectful of hunters and aside from shipping day, do not come in until after 10AM. Please inquire with any questions or concerns.
We will be offering a dry camp RV option for hunters. We are in the process of putting in gravel (should be done before 2024 season). Prior to getting gravel in, if it rains guests will either have to leave the RV, or stay a little longer 🤠.
The ranch is located about 55 minutes from Lewistown and 40 minutes north of Grass Range.
Lodging is available in Montana Breaks Bunkhouse, a 4-bedroom, fully-furnished house. If interested in booking the Bunkhouse, please check for availability and book through VRBO: MT Breaks Bunkhouse, Roy, MT

This is a neat property split by US-Highway 191, with a chance to hunt both Unit 417 to the west and Unit 410 to the east. Doreen's property provides abundant access to adjacent Type-1 BMA, National Wildlife Refuge, and BLM lands. Doreen showed me several water sources on the ranch, which draw big game in frequently. She also showed me some timbered areas on the western portion of the property, in addition to wide open grazing lands. Lastly, she showed me a coulee on the eastern portion, which is a major hotspot for big game as well.

Doreen was a good host and has a beautiful ranch! She gave very good directions on how to access the property and where I might have the most success. Rolling grass hills that flow right into the edge of the breaks on the east end of the property. Saw a herd of elk shortly after I parked the truck and a few turkeys in one of the timbered draws. I wasn't able to locate any bulls but had a great hike anyway. Thanks Doreen!

The cabin we stayed at was wonderful and Doreen was always helpful. Number of deer using property or on property was low. However our stay at cabin was great. Tom
