This is a unique 3-hour family experience.
Have you ever wondered about a better way to do midwestern agriculture than the typical corn and soybean row crops? In 2021 we purchased 36 acres from neighbors. Much of this land had been in row crops. We converted it into a mixed species orchard including chestnuts, hazelnuts, peaches, cherries, honeyberries, June berries, paw paws, prairie, plums, and persimmons. You will get a full tour and explanation of the process and plans. You can sample any fruits/nuts that are available. There will be a light lunch of local grass-fed beef burgers.
About the Farm:
Just 30 minutes from Rockford and a little over an hour from Chicago, we are a small family-run operation based on healthy foods that come from nature. Our goals are to enjoy the outdoors while producing local, healthy foods, and learning about the process.
These experiences are ideal for families or small groups looking to slow down, learn something new, and enjoy a hands-on connection to the outdoors. All of this is available within a short drive from the city. Come explore how healthy food and good stewardship go hand in hand.
