Western Kansas Upland Bird Huntat Schwarz Ranch
The ranch’s CRP fields and brushy fence lines provide quality upland bird habitat. Hunters can work these areas with dogs to flush coveys of quail and roosters along our grassland edges and field strips, near the river and creeks.
Ranch is all contiguous ground. We have a mile riverbottom on Solomon River, with other small creekbottoms and livestock tanks. We have about 350 acres of CRP and 500-600 acres of farm ground that provide food. Our Triticale fields are grazed in the Spring, but the stubble is year round source of food.
We don't have any on-site lodging or camping availability; however, there are some decent Airbnbs in Morland (~8 miles away) and Penokee (~13 miles away).
Fishing is also available in ranch ponds, offering bluegill and sunfish for guests looking to round out their trip.
ATV use, camping access, and predator hunting available upon special request.
