SpringLake Angus South
**Overnight camping in tents are allowed**
We have been a family-operated, working cattle ranch for over 50 years and sit on just over 2,000 acres of land. The property includes the start of the south fork of the Elkhorn River along with 80 acres of timber. Meanwhile, the rest of the land hosts native grass and hay meadow. The soil is very damp with numerous ponds and dugouts scattered throughout, placing this land in the wetland preserve programs.
This flat and wet environment creates a playing field for wildlife including whitetail, mule deer, bobcat, coyote, fox and ample waterfowl. The diverse waterfowl population includes wood, blue-wing, green-wing and cinnamon-teal duck, along with mallards, pintails, Canadian geese, swan, cranes, etc. There are various upland species such as prairie chickens and grouse, as well as two frogs on the endangered species list, which means that the land has not been abused.
We will allow camping on the property, although there are certain times of year that we can’t allow fires. If you prefer to stay indoors, O’Neill, NE is just a quick 20 miles down the road with plenty of great B&B’s that we can recommend.
We have no minimum or maximum number of booking days. Although, we set a high bar for our sportsmen to leave no trace. We pride ourselves very much in our environmental footprint and ask you to respect the land that you are on. We want you to have a great experience out in the wilderness and enjoy the time you have out there!
