Mike and Matt are exceptional hosts. Their property is absolutely gorgeous, and they have spent resources on bird habitat. They offered plenty of insight on the property and areas to concentrate in. Unfortunately, the weather was very hot and conditions were extremely dry, so dog work was limited. We still had a great great time with really fine people!

It was a pleasure hunting the Stroh Hereford Ranch. Mike was a gracious host, and the two parcels that constitute the ranch offered a nice mix of habitats and plenty of room for me and my two setters to stretch our legs during three days of hunting. However, we did not find a lot of birds -- mostly gray partridge with a few sharp-tailed grouse and the occasional not-in-season pheasant mixed in, which is why I gave it only 4 stars. But, we also did not have good weather for bird hunting; it was unseasonably hot even for September (mid- to high 80s) and very windy (often blowing 20 to 25 mph). In fact, it was so hot that I spent two afternoons pass-shooting doves with my retriever, which, while not what I came for, was a nice bonus. Were I to come back, I would do so in October, when pheasants are in season and cooler weather is more assured. Thank you, Mike, for hosting me.

Mike , Got in immediate contact with us after booking. Was very helpful showing us the property. He stayed in contact with us to see if we needed anything. It was good to meet him and his son. They are great people, and I look forward to coming back hunting there place again.
