Black Bear Hunt in Northern NC Timber - Piedmont Bear Mgmt Unitat Tenant House Preserve - 1 Hr from Raleigh-Durham
Hunt bears in Warren County, part of NC's Piedmont Bear Management Unit.
Season opens mid-October and runs until Jan. 1.
NO HUNTING WITH DOGS. Still/Stand hunting only.
This is a great location for a high-potential hunt in the woods. Hunters can bring their own climber stand or popup blind.
67 acres of prime hunting woods... The acreage breaks down into two parcels: one bigger tract is about 57 acres, with a smaller tract to the north about 4 minutes consisting of about 10 acres. Both parcels are heavily wooded, providing good cover for the wildlife. The bigger parcel shares a portion of cropland (~6 acres), which rotates between soybeans, corn and tobacco. This area of transition from field to woods is a productive spot to catch bears as they move from food to cover. The property also offers seasonal creekbottoms.
Just over an hour from the Raleigh-Durham area, the Tenant House Preserve here in Warren County offers 67 acres of THICK North Carolina timber that has been stewarded by the same family for over 125 years.
Primitive camping and RV access is available (no hookups) for hunters who would like to overnight on the property and get after it before first light.
