The Clinker Stone Ranch
The Clinker Stone Ranch is a family-operated cattle ranch driven by a passion for stewardship of the land. Other than cattle, we also have a few "The-Kids-Wanted-Them" animals such as ducks and Kune Kune Pigs.
Our care for the land partnered with our amazing habitat has seen a wide range of wildlife frequent the property. We consistently see turkeys, coyotes, prairie dogs, pheasants, sharptail grouse, porcupines, racoons, and elk during certain times of the year. We also have bobcats, mountain lions, black bears, and badgers; however, these animals tend to be less social.
Our property is also rich in geology. We have a lot of coal seams and petrified rock. The Hell Creek Formation, a popular location for dinosaur enthusiasts, is to the north and east of us.
Our property is also a great location for outdoor recreation opportunities. We are always open to new ideas for ways that people can enjoy our property. If you don't see your desired activity, please click the "Contact Jennifer S" button, and we'd be happy to see if we can accommodate you.
The Clinker Stone Ranch will be offering hunts for Coyotes, and Prairie Dogs. While we don't have a resident elk population on the ranch, sportsmen are encouraged to bring their elk tags along on their hunt. We will be offering 3-day (adventures) and 5-day (excursions) packages for up to six sportsmen.
We have seen our pheasant population get hit pretty hard by predators. Our coyote hunts are starting at $100 per person per day. Help us knock down our coyote population, so our pheasant population can begin to grow again.
The property's 4,500 acres are also bordered by large sections of public access.
For those coming from the Black Hills, the best way to get to us is via I-90 through Gillette. For those coming from western North Dakota and eastern Montana, the best way is through Broadus. But, if you want the scenic route, Highways 14 (from Sheridan) and 16 (from Buffalo) will combine in Ucross, Wyoming and take to you to our property.
At this time, we don't have lodging on the property; however, Gilette is just under an hour-drive away. If you would like to camp on the property or bring your RV, there is an additional $50 added to the per guest price. If you would like us to set up a wall tent for your trip, there is an additional $100 added to the per guest price.
We look forward to hosting you!

The Clinker Stone Ranch has it all. To the north is river bottom where whitetail deer, turkey, and a host of other wildlife are often found. The rest of the ranch is hills, coulees, and open fields which provide ample cover and food for wildlife. Coyotes are prevalent throughout the place as well! Clinker Stone is a beauty for those looking for a great place to recreate in northeast Wyoming!
