Powell Ranch
Just under 80 acres of mostly open pasture all with creek frontage and a good string of forest on the upper bench. Good turkey and quail hunting with abundant ground squirrels and coyotes!
Our family has been raising beef here in Josephine County for generations, and Powell Ranch reflects the same care we bring to every part of our land. Just 20 minutes from Grants Pass and about 40 minutes from Medford, the property features a blend of open pasture, timbered creek bottoms, and thick brush that create excellent conditions for both livestock and wildlife. Williams Creek borders one edge of the ranch, while an irrigation creek runs through the interior, each lined with mature trees and natural cover that draw in wildlife throughout the year.
Fishing is permitted on Williams creek. Anglers will find cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, and bass. Water level does get low later in summer, so pools would be best bet. This is a good practice opportunity for young anglers as well.
We keep pressure light and let the native forage do its job, supporting healthy wildlife movement across the property. Wild turkeys work the timber early and late in the day, often feeding along the edge of the pasture. Quail stay close to the brush and thickets along the creeks, and you’ll regularly hear coyotes cruising the edges at dawn and dusk. Ground squirrels are active across the pasture during warmer months, offering great varmint hunting. There is also some good waterfowl hunting on the creek.
