Yuma County Dove Shoot - Canal Access + Sage Brushat Yuma 30 | The Premier Dove Hunting Destination
~ Southwestern AZ dove hunting along major canal just outside Yuma! ~
Doves use this farm edge for feeding and water access, often funneling in from neighboring cotton and seed fields. The doves typically roost in the desert on the elevated mesa south of the farm (on this parcel and neighboring land), and fly to and from our fields each morning and evening to feed, making this area one of the best dove flights in the valley. Hunters can expect steady action along the canal and brush lines, especially in the early morning and late afternoon. The combination of food, water, and natural cover makes this spot a consistent producer throughout the season.
The property is a patchwork of sage brush, offering a mix of cover and shooting lanes. The canal runs along the property’s edge, providing a critical water source that keeps birds close and active throughout the day. Morning flights typically follow the edges of crop fields, while evening shoots pick up as birds return to the canal's brushy edges.
Camping on-site is permitted; although, with our close proximity to Yuma, there's probably more comfortable lodging options in town.
About the Farm:
Just minutes from Yuma, situated near the AZ-CA state line and the U.S.-Mexico border, this 30-acre dove property is owned and operated by our fourth-generation farming family here in the heart of Yuma County’s rich agricultural belt, where decades of farming have shaped the land into a reliable stopover for migrating birds. With fields in wheat, cotton, and seed crops surrounding the property, hunters benefit from a mosaic of natural forage and agriculture that consistently draws dove in from surrounding areas. Not to mention, our property is bordered by a major canal of the Gila River, so the doves have water as well.
