These dates represent the “general” season dates. Check the individual hunting unit regulations for the most accurate season dates and regulations.

1. Archery

   Sep 13, 2024 – Oct 10, 2024

   12 per season, Statewide. No more than 10 may be antlerless and no more than 2 may be antlered. One of the 2 antlered deer must have at least 4 points, one inch or longer, on one side of the antlers or at least a 15-inch outside spread.

2. Primitive Weapons & -only Firearms

   Oct 11, 2024 – Oct 17, 2024

3. Firearms

   Oct 18, 2024 – Jan 11, 2025

   Rifle

   Firearms deer hunting is not allowed in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton (north of GA Hwy 92), and that portion of Glynn County lying within Jekyll Island.

4. Firearms Season Extended Counties

   Oct 18, 2024 – Jan 15, 2025

   Rifle

   Baker, Decatur, Calhoun, Early, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, & Thomas Counties

   Jan 12, 2025 – Jan 31, 2025
