Black Horse Canyon Ranch provides hunters with unique and rugged sanctuary habitat, over 10 acres of food plots, 4 year-round creeks and hundreds of acres of contiguous timber. We had the Carpenter Road wildfire move through the ranch in 2015, and although we lost the majority of our thick timber stands, it provided an amazing boost to the resident wildlife with a flush of new undergrowth and browse.

Hunting is reserved on a first-come-first-served basis, and by request only. Spots are limited, and we only allow one group at a time to hunt on the ranch to ensure a quality experience

Lodging is $175/night for up to 5 people, then an additional $25/person for up to 10 total. The main cabin and bunkhouse on Black Horse Ranch are located at the fork of Hunters Creek and Moose Creek in a secluded valley. The cabins are powered by 100% green energy through the hydro power facility and solar panels. The cabin has crystal clear, spring-fed water running to it with all the comforts of home! An adjacent bunk house is available next door and can sleep an additional 5 adults. The cabin and bunkhouse come with numerous amenities including: air conditioner, hot water, high-speed WiFi, LCD TVs with Blu-Ray players, wood stove, wood-fired Chofu jacuzzi, dishwasher, and small refrigerator.

Really enjoyed not having to compete with other hunters. Also enjoyed the solitude of living in a very well equipped cabin at the upper end of the canyon. Perfect place to spend time away. Although I was hunting only whitetail, a group of seven mule deer including one buck came within 30 yards of my tower blind. Jonathan is a great host, maintains a great property and cabin. He also shares trail camera images and data. I plan to stay again.

Jonathan has a great place out at BHCR. The property and the views were amazing. Jonathan went out of his way to help us with the geographic of the ranch and to ensure we had a great time. We will be back for sure in the near future. We went to BHCR for our family vacation and everyone had a great time. There's a lot of animals on the ranch as well. Seen over 100 deer, heard elk , seen few elk and a lot of bear sign. ID recommend BHCR and Jonathan B to anyone looking for a great family retreat and hunting experience.

Jonathan is a great host and has a property that you can tell he puts a lot of time and effort into making excellent habitat for wildlife as well as a great place for hunters. Jonathan has stands, food plots & blinds all over the property The property hunts much larger than the acreage listed due to the steeper terrain, multiple canyons and thick cover in the main canyon. We ended up having a full moon for the entirety of our trip which had the animals out feeding at night, which wasn't ideal, but we saw a lot of whitetail & mule deer does with a few smaller bucks. We assume that the more mature bucks were mainly nocturnal. The accommodations were really terrific as well with a main cabin that has a full bathroom with shower, kitchen area (no cooking stove), wood-burning stove and lofted sleeping areas. We hung around and ate dinners in the main cabin after a long day of hunting or outside by the fire after grilling up food and enjoying beers. It's such a beautiful ranch, we'll be back again!
