Deer hunting is allowed on the river bottom only. This area is rich in the Mule and Whitetail species.

There is over a mile of the West Gallatin river running through the bottomland of the property. The river property also includes a couple of islands that are ideal for archery hunters if you are up for a little adventure.

Note: Bowhunters must abide by rifle regulations when hunting general season.

Property Visited

Axtell Ranch is a gem of a ranch on the outskirts of Bozeman. The Gallatin River runs along the eastern edge of the property with wonderful fishing opportunities. The timber in the river bottom and heading up to the high ground is home to whitetails and turkeys with mule deer on the higher ground.

Landowner Rules: We appreciate that you do not bring dogs onto the property unless it is waterfowl season. We will at times, have livestock near by and truly appreciate well trained hunting dogs. Please close gates behind you. At this time we are only allowing archery hunting on the river bottom property. No firearms. The only exception to this is during waterfowl season. Only shotguns will be allowed during waterfowl season We hope you enjoy your experience!
