Guests are invited to our regenerative farm to experience a day in the life of running 220 ewes here in Eastern Nebraska. This will be an interactive experience with an opportunity to be up close and personal with our sheep, meet our sheepdogs, and learn more about our operation. 

Price is $100 per family (up to 4 families in a group). Your group will be the only group we host during tour day!

Itinerary:

• Roughly a 1-1.5 hour tour but folks can stay up to an extra hour longer if they just want to take in the scenery):
• Conversation at the gate, showing an overview of the ranch layout and why we chose to have sheep 
• Drive (in the side-by-side) to an area of the pasture to get in depth about the different forages that the sheep are grazing and what each plant is doing for the animals and for the soil, as well as for other ecosystem services or wildlife. 
• Drive over to where the sheep are. We'll talk about the flock, including their age and health, look at the different patterns, etc. We will also look at grazing management and talk about when it's time to move them to the next paddock.
• We are happy to have people help me set up the next paddock to move the sheep. (an extra 15-30 minutes)
• If your group would enjoy helping set up the next paddock, we could also even move the flock to the next paddock. Sometimes it's fun to see the stampede into the next spot. (an extra ~15 minutes)

Behle Farm is an 85-acre regenerative sheep operation in Washington County, Nebraska, about 35 miles northwest of Omaha. This was Lori's grandparents' farm, and we wanted to keep it in the family. Today it runs as a working sheep farm with rolling ag ground, terraced hillsides, and open pasture that sits close enough to the metro to make it a realistic getaway for local guests in the Omaha and Council Bluffs area.
