Peabody, Kansas | A Century Farm Rooted in Regeneration and Real Food

Welcome to Beloved Yoder Farm, nestled in the Great Plains of Kansas: home to one of the most endangered ecosystems on Earth. Founded in 1904 by Aaron and Fannie Yoder, who migrated from Pennsylvania, our farm has been lovingly tended by four generations of husband-and-wife teams. In 1986, Becki and Evan Yoder purchased the farm from Evan’s mother, continuing the legacy with a renewed vision for stewardship and sustainability. In 2023, the farm was named Beloved Yoder Farm to reflect its heart: a place of legacy, belonging, and care.

As a proud Century Farm, Beloved Yoder Farm honors more than 120 years of continuous family ownership and care. For over 40 years, Becki and Evan, both fourth-generation farmers, have worked to restore and renew the land through regenerative practices. We raise grass-fed, grass-finished lambs on native prairie and brome pastures, stewarding the soil and honoring the animals with low-stress, pasture-based care. Our goal is simple and bold: to raise clean, real food: meat, garden produce, and eggs, right here on the farm. Many meals served are 100% grown and raised on the farm.

For 38 years, we also raised a small bison herd on our virgin native pasture: a powerful symbol of prairie restoration and resilience. In 2023, we respectfully closed that chapter, grateful for all the ways the buffalo shaped our land ethic and deepened our connection to the Great Plains.

Over the decades, we’ve increased wildlife habitat, built a pit pond for family enjoyment and wildlife, planted shelterbelts, and converted our only tillable acres to native grasses and pollinator mixes, added a fruit orchard with 40 heirloom trees and planted several fence lines with native Kansas shrubs to create natural habitat corridors, support pollinators, and honor the prairie’s original design, as well as to nourish both people and wildlife.

Our small greenhouse nurtures garden starts, cabbage, tomatoes, herbs, and more, which we share with local families, schools, and community gardens. Teaching others to grow their own food is part of our mission.

From sheep grazing peacefully in our pastures, to experiencing the breathtaking Kansas sunrises and sunsets, to stargazing under dark skies, from farm-to-table meals to prairie walks, Beloved Yoder Farm is a place to reconnect... with the land, with legacy, and with each other.
