We have an excellent population of quail this year. The milo planted this year as well as the brush on the north of the property provide great habitat for the quail that are always whistling.
Our Buck and Bobwhite property here in Stafford County is a great location for sportsmen to hunt in the Heart of Kansas. We farm milo on about 80 acres of land that's been in our family for four generations since 1915. This is prime habitat for bobwhite quail. Our cropland is split in two by a thick shelterbelt, about 30 yards wide, that spans nearly the full length of the farm. Our southwest corner also consists of dense tree cover, while the eastern border of the farm is mostly brush.
Permits for quail are valid statewide and are available to both resident and non-resident sportsmen.
Hunters looking to stay overnight on the farm are welcome to bring along an RV. There's ample space along the southern edge of the property and off the side of the road.
