Located in the Catskills Park just outside Arkville in Delaware County, NY, the historic George Farm offers 137 acres of rich, wooded terrain with a legacy dating back to the original Hardenburgh Tract. Though the farm hasn’t operated since 1943, the lapse in human activity has transformed this land into a haven for wildlife. 

The terrain is classic Catskill country: rolling timbered hills, dense creek bottoms, an 8 acre lower meadow, and a smaller upper meadow set with a box blind that offers ready-made opportunity. Old logging trails wind through the woods, providing access by foot or ATV. Dry Brook runs along one side, while a natural spring flanks another. These consistent water sources, paired with native forage and ample cover, support healthy populations of big and small game throughout the season.

This property is part of New York’s WMU 3A and offers excellent prospects for whitetail deer, black bear, and turkey. Whether posted in the blind at first light or hiking the ridgelines to glass across the timbered hollows, hunters will find the land provides natural funnels and bedding areas that draw consistent movement. 

This is primarily oak forest, with lots of acorns this year. The wildlife is loving it. (Maple, hemlock, and other species as well.)
