A note on Colorado State Trust Lands:
State Trust Lands are not, nor have they ever been, public lands available for public access. The State Trust Lands program was initiated by the federal government which granted these lands to states at statehood for the purpose of generating revenue for public schools. Grazing leases, oil & gas leases, hunting & recreation leases are just a few of the ways these lands are monetized to raise money to fund public schools. In 2018 alone, Colorado State Trust Lands raised over $122.3M for Colorado public schools. By booking this property and other State Trust Land properties on LandTrust, you can be happy to know you're directly funding public schools through your outdoor adventures.

4.3I had an excellent trip. The communication with the landowner was prompt and detailed, and the property itself was as promised. In what seemed like a down year for antelope populations generally, I was able to find antelope on the property. Great experience overall.
Reviewed by Guest on October 2024Great experience. Access was easy with good directions and property boundaries sent through onX. Spoke with the rancher of the adjacent property who had cows on the property. He was friendly and helpful. Saw antelope and prairie dogs on the property everyday.
Reviewed by Guest on August 2023We had a great weekend land is very pretty. Thanks from all of us I submitted some beautiful pictures to land trust. Camped at nearby north sterling reservoir. Convenient nearby. Would come here again and recommend to others.

I leased this property mainly to provide easy access to the back side of adjoining private property that I was hunting. It served it's purpose for that plan. Did not see any deer on the leased property, but as stated, it served it's intended purpose. Landowner was very helpful and promptly responded to any questions I had.
Reviewed by Guest on November 2021 The information on the location is incorrect, the property is located on road 21 south of road 58. The pin for the gate was correct though. There were no prarie dogs on this property, there were however prarie dogs on the adjoining property of Cedar Creek Ranch private land and the landowner was kind enough to let us shoot the prarie dogs on his property from the land trust property. Overall we had a fun day and were able to take shots from 100 to 400 yards, until the wind came up at 40 MPH +. We saw 5 Antelope, the buck was real nice, he was 500 yards away. I would not rebook for prarie dogs again though.
Reviewed by Guest on October 2020Had a hiccup with the rancher who leases the property on the opening morning of our hunt. This situation was super unique since this is a public trust property. I called Landtrust and the took care of everything for me and cleared it all up with the other rancher who leases this spot for cattle. All in all a good weekend and did see some antelope on the lease just wasn't able to quite connect with our bows.
