County Line Farm
Solid bird hunting less than 2 hours from Fargo!
Our farm is located on the Dickey-Sargent county line just outside of Oakes. This is a great spot for hunters looking to hunt upland birds and waterfowl here in Southeastern North Dakota! We are a 7th-generation farm with 293 acres of ag ground and watery sloughs, located about an hour and 45 minutes from Fargo and within an hour of interstate access of both I-29 (to the east) and I-94 (to the north).
The landscape here is a blend of irrigated and dryland cropland, this season primarily corn, interspersed with sloughs and seasonal ponds that create natural draws for wildlife. These wetland areas offer critical water sources and shelter, especially during the fall migration. Marshy cover around the sloughs, combined with edges of standing corn and natural grass buffer strips, provides food and cover for both pheasants and waterfowl.
We are open to hunters looking to camp overnight on the property. We don't have hookups, and we may have you set up in specific areas depending on if crops are still up. Camping will be best-suited for folks with an overland set up, topper, or roof-top tent.
We look forward to having you and your bird dogs out!
