Coyote Gulch Ranch
The Coyote Gulch Ranch has been in our family since the late 40s. The property itself consists of two sections that are covered in timber with steep ridges and deep coulees. The upper section and a half are mostly open scrub brush in the coulees and provide excellent views of the Crazy, Beartooth, and Little Belt Mountain Ranges. One could almost see Livingston if the bend in the river didn't hide it! The ranch is about 1,600 acres total and opens access to an additional 1,200 acres of landlocked public lands.
The property is located 20 miles northeast of Big Timber and I-90.
Our ranch features excellent outdoor opportunities like camping, hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife viewing. During your visit, you might see elk, deer, turkeys, bobcats, or the occasional bear or mountain lion. Birds and other small furry critters are in abundance as well!
All in all, there's a time to be had here by all at the Coyote Gulch Ranch.
An amazing property with plenty of cover and food for elk, deer, and turkeys, all of which I saw while visiting the ranch. The lower part of the property has thick timber, cuts and coulees, with ample hills. The upper portion has grazing pasture surrounded by timber, and amazing views of the Crazy Mountains.

Showed up with zero expectations and left with what I was told was the only turkey harvested all season. I didn’t hear many birds but was lucky enough to find one willing to play the game. Caleb, his father, and his dog Gus were great hosts. The ranch was beautiful and as it was dry, the roads were great. Will definitely look into hunting here again.

I had the opportunity to hunt the Coyote Gulch Ranch. My hunt was early November. I had a great experience. I saw Mule Deer everyday, I shot a Muley buck that was a good representative of what the area has to offer. I unfortunately wasn’t able to fill my elk tag but saw good bulls while there. Unfortunately they were on the neighbors. The ranch is beautiful and the Voldberg family are great people. I had a great time talking to Mr. Voldberg and Caleb. They are excellent hosts. I thoroughly enjoyed my hunt. If you come out my advice is to bring good boots and put in miles. It’s 1600-1800 feet in elevation change from bottom to top. Walk it with your head up. It’ll pay off. I saw mule deer everyday, antelope up top, elk, coyotes, and Hungarian partridge.

Caleb was incredibly friendly and informative on the details of the ranch leading up to and during the hunt. Coyote Gulch ranch is a huge property with a lot of great opportunities for a successful hunt between the ranch boundaries and state land adjacent to the property. Great property for hunters that want a big area to explore. Will definitely look to return in the future.

Nice ranch! It is at the end of a road and very quiet. Plenty of critters around. Saw elk and deer and found recent tracks of bear, mountain lion, and bobcat. Didn't hear or see any turkeys on this trip, but I'm certain multiple birds will be harvested from this property by the end of the season. It is a nice mix of terrain, trees, and open areas. The land owners are friendly and helpful. I'll be back!

Reviewed by Guest on May 2023 Great folks! Very pleasant to talk to. Also very informative. I really enjoyed my time there. I paid for a two day access and, located my bird and, filled my tag the first morning on the public side that is directly adjacent between their two properties. I highly recommend. I won't hesitate to do more hunts there. Absolutely two thumbs up!
