Hunt cow elk on our pivots here in Northcentral Nebraska!

Price is per licenseholder. Guests assisting with the hunt, packing out, etc. are free. If you or an additional guest have a tag for another species, just ask and we can accommodate a hunt for multi-species.

Note on success rates for cows: After opening weekend, chances of harvesting decrease with each passing week. The way the weather works in this part of the state, when things get dry, the elk move to where the green is down by the river. I will do my best to put you on elk; however, the further into season you get, the tougher the hunt. 

This in essence is an elk mitigation hunt. We have large herds of elk that hang out on our cropland, providing sportsmen with a high chance of getting a shot off and the ability to fill the freezer with one out of our many crop-fed elk.

As the season gets closer, feel free to reach out with any questions you have about the herd size and movements. I'm around the ranch every day, so I have a good feel for where they're hanging out. Happy to provide recommendations for which of our listings to book; however, come Fall there's really not a bad choice!

We won't be accepting bookings until after Nebraska elk draw results come out, which is historically right around the first week of July.

A max of 10 days (not consecutive) can be booked per sportsman per season, for a max of $250 (plus LT booking fee). All days thereafter are free. Just coordinate with us when you want to come out and we will block out your days for you.

Lodging is available in Valentine about +/- 30 minutes away from our ranch.

Note: NO TRESPASSING ON NEIGHBORS. If wounded game goes onto neighbors, under no circumstances shall you leave LandTrust boundaries without calling JP first. Any trespassing and/or failure to notify JP if wounded game leaves boundary, guest will 1) be asked to leave without refund and 2) forfeit future hunting opportunities at Danielski Farms.

With plenty of corn, soybeans, wheat, and/or edible beans to eat, the elk are very fleshy with a great taste.

Ponds, Livestock Tanks, and Rivers

 

We have a pond, slough located in the middle of our two pivots. This is a hotspot for elk being only about a mile from the Niobrara River.

Hills, Brush, Draws, and Grasslands

 

In the early season the elk will still be traveling to and from the Niobrara River. Once the corn gets chest high, they will start staying in the fields, coming out to graze in the evenings going back in early in the morning.

ATV's: Allowed • DO NOT PARK IN TALL GRASS. ATV's are allowed along existing trail roads to transport you to and from hunting area or to retrieve harvested game. During extreme fire danger times we may limit the use of ATV's.
Drive-in Access: Yes: Exit 16F Spur taking Galloway Ranch Road. Once you cross the autogate park in mowed area to the south or along the road way on north side of pivots. Do not block the gates, pivot lanes, or road. Do not trespass on neighbors by leaving designated LandTrust area. During extreme fire danger times we may limit the use of vehicles. All gates are to be left the way you found them and NO cutting fences.
Walk-in Access: Yes • Feel free to walk anywhere within the fenced boundary of the two pivots. Please ask for any clarifications needed to keep neighbors happy.
Vehicles: 2 Allowed • Please provide us with make, model, color, and license plate number of vehicles.
Landowner Rules: We insist you follow all state and federal hunting laws. We will not condone violations and will report all game violations. Note on Property Boundaries: Please stick to only the outlined boundaries that are provided from LandTrust via onX/Huntwise. We have portions of parcels under our name that are not included in our LandTrust offering. Please refrain from leaving the provided boundary even if the parcel is under our name. Thank you.
Cancellation Policy: Refunds are only available within 48 hours of the landowner accepting your booking request.

Parking: Yes • DO NOT PARK IN TALL GRASS. Please, park in the NE corner of 107 (east pivot) nearest 16F Spur. Do not block the gates or roads leading into bin site or pivots. All gates are to be left the way you found them and NO cutting fences. We will do our best to mow a patch of grass so parking areas will be obvious.
