Daugherty Farms
***Solid Hunting all within 1-2 hours of Columbus, Akron, & Cleveland***
Nestled in the heart of Coshocton County, Daugherty Farms offers 187 acres of prime ag ground along the Walhonding River. Located just outside of Warsaw, OH, this 6th-generation dairy and grain farm is a working operation, milking around 400 cows and focusing on corn, soybeans, and hay. The acreage is made up of two parcels, a 39-acre and a 148-acre piece, about a half-mile apart. Both parcels provide excellent habitat with a mix of croplands and timbered river-bottom.
Whitetails thrive on the farm’s rich food sources and protective tree lines, using the timber along the river and the Simmons Run creek bottom for bedding and travel corridors. The combination of croplands and natural forage ensures healthy herds, and hunters can take advantage of well-placed vantage points along field edges and wooded transitions. Turkey hunters will find ample opportunities as well, with flocks frequenting the fields in the mornings and retreating to the timber for roosting.
For waterfowl enthusiasts, the Walhonding River draws migrating geese, creating excellent pass-shooting and decoying conditions. The river serves as a natural flyway, and hunters can expect steady action, especially during peak migration periods.
Beyond hunting, the Walhonding River offers fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass, bluegill, and catfish. A boat ramp between the two parcels provides easy water access, perfect for canoeing or a relaxing day on the water. Those looking to extend their stay can camp on-site, though camper access may be easier at a nearby location just down the road.
With its mix of farmland, timber, and river access, Daugherty Farms is a solid multi-species hunting destination. Whether you're after Ohio bucks, gobbling toms, or waterfowl over the river, we're looking forward to hosting you!
