We host 300+ head of elk each year, as well as whitetail and mule deer. Black bears also frequent the timber above our ranch to inspect our livestock. The C Lazy R Ranch is a working cattle and sheep ranch nestled in the Tobacco Root Mountains. Our hay and alfalfa fields not only feed our livestock but also the over 300 head of elk that also call our ranch home. Whitetail and mule deer are also abundant as well as black bears. With a 1,000 ft elevation gain from the hayfields to the top off the mountain and beyond in the timber, this property offers the sportsman a truly amazing hunt in the Montana mountains.

Property Access & Ground Rules

  • Check In: After 12:00 AM

  • Drive-in Access: No
  • Walk-in Access: Yes
  • Guests: 3 Allowed

Landowner Rules: Walking only, no vehicles of any type will be allowed. Pack in/pack out. Littering will not be tolerated and a minimum fee of $250 will be charged for any litter found. This is a working ranch, we use Livestock Guardian dogs and they are on duty 24/7. The dogs will be left alone and if encountered while they are working, the sportsman will ignore them and leave them alone. Any harm or harrassment to the dogs will not be tolerated. If a Livestock Guardian dog or livestock is harmed or killed by the sportsman a non-negotiable fee of $2,000.00 will be charged. If any sportman is outside of the boundaries they will be asked to leave the property and the hunt will be over. We expect the sportsman to be a responsible hunter. If you don't have a shot, don't take it. If it sounds like WWIII on our ranch the sportsman will be asked to leave immediatly and the hunt is over.
