Fisher Ranch
Fisher Ranch features over 1,100 acres of private land in Weston County. In addition to our private ground, we are bordered by a large chunk of BLM lands. We have two parcels that border the South Dakota state line as well, providing direct access to the Black Hills National Forest. The ranch hunts large!
Hunters should be prepared to put some miles on their boots. Terrain is pretty rugged and it can take some work to get around the ranch.
Habitat is classic terrain synonomous with the Black Hills, including timbered ridges, rugged draws, and natural springs. We have an abundant Merriam's turkey population, with good numbers of mature Toms year after year. Both whitetail and mule deer are prevalent on the ranch. We see slightly more muleys due to the sage brush, ridges, and timber in our high ground, but there's still decent chance for whitetails in the meadows and lower ground. Ranch is located in Unit 6 for deer. Elk are also prevalent in this region, with ample glassing points and opportunities to put stalks on bulls. Our neighbor to the north has a large herd, while our herd tends to be more transitory. Still decent chances though, so we'd recommend staying more days to have more opportunity to catch them as they move through. Ranch is located in Unit 117 for elk.
