This is a great dove-hunting destination. The many water tanks offer great spots to set up decoy spreads for shooting that typically continues throughout the day and for the duration of the season.

Natural Forage, Food Plots, and Agriculture

 

While 90% of our land is open prairie we do have large wheat, alfalfa, feed, and milo fields nearby. At first light when the deer leave these fields they head to bed up in the open grass.

Creeks, Livestock Tanks, Ponds, and Springs

 

While the majority of water you will see on the ranch is provided by windmills or solar pumps at large tanks, we do have a few ponds that hold water. In years with normal rain there are a few springs that open up and these provide a great source for wildlife to get a drink without venturing into the open.

Draws, Grasslands, Hills, and Shelter Belt

 

While the terrain may look flat it has a lot of variation. With canyons in some areas and dry creek beds in others. There are large drainages, sandhills, and gullies that deer use to travel and to hide from the high winds we often experience.

Property Rules
Campfires: Not allowed
Pets: Allowed on property • The only pets allowed on the property are retriever/bird dogs during a booked Dove hunt. Otherwise there is a no pet policy on the ranch.
Drive-in Access: Yes: All of our pastures can be driven in and through. In fact, most of the ground is contiguous so as long as every gate gets shut there is no issue with driving. However, guests are expected to stay on the trail roads and only park in areas next to water tanks or the trail.
Walk-in Access: Yes
Vehicles: 2 Allowed • Do not drive across these pastures in a small car or small SUV. You will get stuck! If you do have a small car or small SUV you will have to park at the gate and walk in wherever you are going.
Landowner Rules: Upon arrival it is mandatory that each guest stops at the house and checks in. Each guest will be given a map with access points, things of interest, and a list of guidelines that we expect each guest to adhere to. If they are hunting we will check to make sure they have the proper license and tags for the season they are here to hunt. After that a brief safety talk with "rules of the range" and expectations will be given. NO FIRES ALLOWED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!! If you open a gate, Shut the Gate!!! A rule to live by in this area. All deer hunters will be expected to bring their deer by the house to be examined. We have a large shop with a winch that is available for any caping or butchering that needs done. This requirement helps us continue to manage our herd to the best of our abilities.
