Welcome to Hat Creek Cattle Co.

Our farm is located just South of Cheney Reservoir in Mount Vernon, Kansas. Our ground consists of cropland and timber with creeks scattered throughout the farm.

We are looking forward to inviting guests to our 6th Annual Family Branding. A family of four will be able to join us Memorial Weekend Friday for this educational and fun ranching experience. Families that participate in this day are local and out of state. They all have a 'love' for cowboying up! 

We are also pleased to be offering hunting experiences for turkey, dove, quail, and waterfowl. We will also be doing archery whitetail hunts on a portion of our acreage.

We will have catering available as part of the Annual Branding package. Special catering could be available for other events if desired for a fee.

Landowner Rules: We will want to visit with you before you come to the branding event. We want you to be prepared and equipped. We will take you to the property, and answer any questions, so the following day you know where to go, etc.
Cancellation Policy: Refunds are only available within 48 hours of the landowner accepting your booking request.

Bio

Our property is a multi-generational working farm and ranch. We primarily raise wheat, and feed/sedan for our cattle. We also operate a seed cleaning business and clean seed wheat.

We have two grown children that helped on the farm and were active in 4-H, sports and academics while in school. Our oldest daughter is married and lives on a farm about 45 miles away and has 2 little boys. She is a 4-H Extension Agent and County DIrector and her husband is the manager of Terra Financial, Inc. for The Citizens State Bank Group. Our youngest daughter is the Director of Marketing for Pratt Community College.
